We left Brest at 7am with a favourable forecast to get around the dreaded Raz de Sein halfway around the wind died and we had to motor – again. Shortly after passing the Raz de (in)sein we got 2 buoys tangled around our rudder. We managed to cut them free but it left 2 pieces of rope threaded through our rubber stock which needed removing asap. We got to Groix with rope dangling behind us to be greeted by fog where I had to jump in and remove the rope.

Rope was easily removed, anchor dropped and the fog lifted to find a beautiful quaint french island famous for it’s cider.

And of course there was a giant neolithic standing stone that we had to visit. Reminded me of the monkey scene in 2001 – A space Odyssey.

Onto La Rochelle, maybe via Ile de Yeu.
Oh I didn’t know about the Cider! Fabulous ❤️
